Hand Stitching + Visible Mending Feb. 5, 12, 19

Thursdays, February 5, 12, 19 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

In this work shop, lead by Beth Simon, we will explore the Japanese art of Sashiko used for visible mending, creating decorative stitched designs and for making fabric stronger.

Please bring whatever technique you love and share your knowledge.

What to bring: scrap fabric (solid color best) that can be turned into patches and used for mending holes in clothing. Best fabric to use - denim, cotton or linen.

Embroidery thread, perle cotton #8 or Sashiko thread, large eye sharp needle (darning, crewel or Sashiko needle), snips.

Check out Beth's Instagram account bethsimon_studio to see examples of this work.
